TUESDAY: TOWER CHALLENGE

I can work as a team to accomplish a goal.
1.  The city of Legopolis is getting crowded. It needs more housing for all the new minifigures moving into town. They only have 1 square block to build the housing and a limited budget (only afford 50 bricks). Whatever they build, it must be strong (can hold a tennis ball) and safe to keep its members safe.

To test your structure, the tennis ball will be placed on the highest brick of your tower. It must stay on top and not roll off or cause your tower to break. The tower must be at least 14 inches tall.

Lets fill out the Engineering Design Page as a class.

2. You will move to the lab table the teacher assigns. Have a discussion with your group and develop a plan.

Then you may begin building. If you complete the challenge, everyone in the group give me a thumbs up.

Do you need to improve to complete this challenge? What could be done to make it better even if you did solve it the first time?
3. If your group finished early, you may play these games below.
4. Clean up.  Log off and wait to line up.

WEDNESDAY - COMPLETE TOWER CHALLENGE & PART 2

I can work with my group to build a prototype.

1.  Review the Engineering Design Process.

Finish your tower challenge. Then you will be given a part 2 to the challenge.

2.  When your group is ready to be tested, everyone give me a thumbs up.

4. If you passed both challenges, clean up your bricks. Take them all apart and back into the totes. Return to your computers and you may do these games only. Then practice your typing.
5. Clean up. Put things away and log off.

THURSDAY- FINISH CHALLENGE PART 2

I can follow a plan to build a prototype.

1. Typing Club

2.  If your group is already done with both challenges, do the word search puzzle below.

3. You may play these games if you are finished. Practice your typing.
4. Clean up and put things away.
