4.1 INTERNET SAFETY

MONDAY - WELCOME BACK
I can learn the classroom expectations.

1. Take a seat up front. You may use a chair if needed.

​2.  Wash hands. Practice the proper procedure, please. 
Log in and change the settings on your computer to how your like them. Be sure to bookmark my page.

3. Build the puzzle below.
4. Log in to Typing Club. There is not password needed. You will be starting over in a new 4th grade class.
5. Log off and stay seated until asked to line up.




TUESDAY - STRANGER DANGER
I can tell what I need to keep safe online.



1. Stranger Danger Activity. (at board)
  • I need 5 volunteers for this activity.

​2. What are at least 6 things you should never share online publicly or to a stranger. (Class activity at board)

3. Take a look at this chart.  If you are typing faster than 15 minutes and 80% accuracy or better, please show me your score. You may become an independent student and work on other projects instead of typing club this year. If not, please log into Typing club below and work on increasing your speed and accuracy.

WEDNESDAY - INTERNET SAFETY
I can explain ways to stay safe online.


1. Sit up front. We will watch a video about Online Friends.

​2.  Build the puzzle.

3.  Find all the words in the puzzle.
4. Play the first game. If it is too hard, then do the Cyber -Five activity instead.
5. Typing Club

6. Log off the computers. Do not get up until you are asked to line up.


 
THURSDAY - INTERNET SAFETY POSTER
I can design a poster about Internet Safety.

1.
 Today you will use Tux Paint. This is a desktop program that is installed on your computer. You will create a poster about internet safety. It should focus only on 1 topic. Be clear, simple to read, and provide a safety tip with a picture to match.  Be sure to put your name and grade on it, small and off to the side.

2. You can make a plan for your poster on paper, I have scrap paper . This is allow you to sketch it out to make sure it looks good. You can also Use Google to help you spell any words you need help with. You can also ask the teacher if you tried to do it on your own.

If you know how to use Tux Paint you can begin when ready. If not, watch the video below first.

3. If you do not know how to use Tux Paint, watch the tutorial below.

4. Make sure your poster is complete before printing it out. You can save and finish it later if needed.

  • Clear, easy to read tip
  • All words spelled correctly
  • An image/graphic that goes with the message
  • Your name and grade on the poster
5. If you finished early, log into Typing Club and work on your skills.
