KNEX CAR CHALLENGE
MONDAY - INTRO TO CHALLENGE

1. Challenge: build a car that can drive itself through a winding track.

Supplies: Knex pieces, battery motor, cardboard, cutters, and tape.
Picture
We have limited motors, teams can be 2-4 people. Nobody may have their own motor. I do have some pull back motors individuals may use if you choose or are asked not to work with others.

2. I will give you some tips to connect your motor to the knex pieces. Once you get a working car, then you can make changes and test different wheels, designs, styles, etc.

Below are some other instructions to help you out.

3.
Store your car in the back cabinet of the room. Put it in a tote and remember your number.

TUESDAY - FINISH YOUR CAR
1. After some instructions, continue building your car. Once we get some track set up, test your car and make adjustments if necessary.

Teams will need to work together to build a long track for the cars.

Remember: the goal is to have your car go through a track and not get stuck. Take a look at the front of this car. Would this glide against the walls and help it turn left and right?

2.
Below are some alternate activities you can do with Knex. The page is full of ideas. I have 2 boxes set up to build the pull back motor car.
